IS SRI LANKA SAFE FOR TRAVEL?
Sri Lanka’s third largest source of foreign exchange reserves from tourism. Therefore, it’s vital to conserve from being devastating. Due to the repercussions had from the April 2019 Easter Terror Attacks, Sri Lanka saw a 21 percent decrease in tourist arrivals from the previous year, with over 1.9 million visitors arriving here. The government has heightened security and set up various security checkpoints across the country in an effort to lessen your chance of becoming a victim of a terrorist attack.
Afterward the Covid-19 pandemic wreaked
havoc all over the world. To stop the spread of the virus, Sri Lanka first went
into lockdown in March 2020, which included closing the airport. For the first
time in tourism history, global tourist arrivals dramatically decreased and
completely ceased for a period of 10 months till January 21, 2021. With
the enacting of various policies by the government, citizens act according to
the safety protocols in order to pretend spreading the virus nationwide.
The economic crisis in Sri Lanka dashes prospects for a rebound in tourism after COVID-19. The 22 million-strong nation is experiencing unheard-of economic turbulence, the worst in seven decades, making it difficult for millions of people to purchase food, medicine, fuel, and other necessities. Power outages frequently happen as a result of electricity rationing. All around Sri Lanka, there may be public protests. Numerous violent incidents have occurred during significant protests.
In the current economic scenario, Sri Lanka provides one of the greatest vacation deals. Hotels are competitively priced in order to entice tourists to return, and as of early November, the exchange rate was 1 GBP to 413 LKR, compared to 145 LKR to the pound in April 2022, implying that travelers' money will go significantly further.
Nevertheless, the fact that Sri Lanka is not overrun with tourists makes it a perfect for a visit in the current climate. Travel before the tourists return in winter 2022 or early 2023.Visitors may enjoy beaches and perfect waves to themselves, wander among monkeys without seeing another soul, and choose which temples to visit at sunrise. With a deliberate effort being made to bring tourism back to the country, it won't be long before visitor levels begin to rise, but for the time being, visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience this lush island in peace.

Overall my message to you if you are planning to visit Sri Lanka, yes it is. It is safe and you should travel. Boosting tourism in Sri Lanka at this stage would be a good contingency to extinguish economic crises and globalize Sri Lanka as a tourist destination for sustainable tourism. Make Sri Lanka a breathtaking travel destination for future generations.

DeleteGreat post. Above article pointing out the tourism resilience of sri Lanka. even after the easter sunday attack, Sri lanka received 1.9 million tourist in 2019 proving that "Sri lanka is a safe destination". Compared to the bombing in Bali 2002, Sri lanka recovered much faster in 2019 due to the higher diversity in culture, flora and fauna, heritage, geography and beaches in the island.
